About Hilary EasleaI first became interested in complementary medicine in 1997 when I decided to train as a reflexologist. At the time I was working in banking in the City and had no intentions of becoming a therapist. I was fascinated by reflexology (and still am) and the whole concept of balancing subtle energies in the body. I continued my training, part-time, in Massage and Aromatherapy and learnt the ancient art of Indian Head Massage. I also became attuned to the Usui system of Reiki - an ancient Japanese method of channelling healing energy through the hands. The death of a close family member due to cancer gave me a close-up view of our medical system and made me more determined to learn about natural healing methods. In 2000 I gave up work and embarked upon a degree course in Nutritional Therapy. I graduated in 2003 and moved to the Cotswolds and opened the Living Essentials Natural Therapy Centre in Stow-on-the-Wold. I continued my training with a 2 year diploma course in Vibrational Medicine learning to harmonize people, places and the environment and further developed my kinesiology skills, acquired at University, by studying the Touch for Health system to Level V. In 2006 I trained in NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques) a brilliant energy system for not only testing for allergies but eliminating them completely. In 2007 I travelled to France and the United States to take further advanced training courses in this amazing therapy which has also had fantastic results treating children and adults with learning difficulties, dyslexia, ADHD and autism. More recently I have completed a 2 year post-graduate degree (MA) in Psychotherapy & Healing Practice and am currently writing my dissertation about the effects of stress and emotional trauma on the body and the development of psychosomatic symptoms. Today I combine all of these therapies to bring a unique approach to healthcare. I believe that each body contains the information we need to bring it back to health and by unlocking this, often deeply buried, wisdom we can successfully restore a person to the state of vibrant health and vitality that is our birth right. I am particularly interested in mind-body medicine - how our state of mind and our emotions affect our health and can produce physical symptoms and illness as a way of telling us something needs to be looked at. The affects of stress and anxiety on the body cannot be ignored in today's busy society and need more than just drugs to put them right. I am dedicated to a natural approach and believe this is the way forward to improve our health and happiness. |
